For example, to add a sense of warmth to your space opt for rich warm copper colours when it comes to metallic accents. If you are looking for a crisp, refreshing feel, then cool tones such as silver or...

Spring Bed Linen- Behind the Design

Our Duvet sets are made in a family-owned factory, located in the heart of Portugal’s textile region. The mill is owned and operated by the founder’s great-grandchildren and has adopted modern technologies while preserving their culture’s time-honoured techniques. Our duvet collections surpass the highest criterion of testing for harmful chemicals and synthetics and are not artificially softened.    This Spring, our buyers have gone for two distinctive themes for our bed linen collection: Art Deco-inspired graphic prints and Laid-back Coastal with gentle blue tones. Art-Deco is certainly having a moment in interiors for 2018, and here at Meadows and Byrne, we are excited to offer our take on the iconic...

You Guac My World

You Guac My World Guacamole or Guac as it’s fondly known, a dip made from avocados, is originally from Mexico. The name is derived from two Aztec Nahuatl words—ahuacatl (avocado) and molli (sauce). All you really need to make guacamole is ripe avocados and salt. After that, a little lime or lemon juice—a splash of acidity— will help to balance the richness of the avocado. Then if you want, add chopped cilantro, chilies, onion, and/or tomato.   The trick to making perfect guacamole is using good, ripe avocados. Check for ripeness by gently pressing the outside of the avocado. If there is no give, the avocado is not ripe yet...

Goodbye Dreary January and Hello Hygge!

Hygge - Cosy with Tea

New year, new resolutions! This year we’re not falling down the typical trap of an unrealistically strict January, just to drop all the kale and Pilates come February. Instead we are taking a more holistic approach to living well; we are embracing Hygge! 2017 is the year of Hygge; a Danish term which has no exact English translation, but can be described as the concept of coziness. It is a feeling created during the moments where you are at your comfiest, whether with family, friends or alone, enjoying the simple things. Sitting fireside, with a good book, a chunky knit throw, a mug of tea in your hand and...
