Blue

Blue is often seen as being a cold colour. But, if you get the right shade and mix it with the right colours it can look warm and inviting. We like to mix blue with shades of whites, oranges and pinks and materials like cork. Jewel like shades of blue can be rich and luxurious and can create a real statement. So be brave and be fabulous with blue this season.

Art Deco

Art Deco oozes glamour and this spring we’re feeling inspired by the 1920’s look. Think about The Great Gatsby; beauty, luxury, soft shapes, mirrored surfaces, marble, metals and plush velvets. Art Deco is also known as Style Moderne and it is a style that we never fall out of love with. Having a little or a lot in your home is nothing but a good thing this season.

Hygge

The Danish way of living became popular in the winter and it certainly isn’t going anywhere now that the days are getting warmer and longer. Hygge is still trending this season and for good reason. We still like to feel cosy in the evenings at this time of year, but instead of being indoors why not try it outdoors? By having copious amounts of throws, cushions and hot chocolates you can bring the indoors out and have a lovely evening beneath the stars.

Greenery

Seeing as Pantone’s colour of the year is Greenery it would be rude not to have it on our homes this season. Bright zesty green’s are on trend this season in our interiors. We like to think of it as bringing nature from the outside and giving it a home inside. This can be done in many ways, think coloured soft furnishings like cushions and throws, dinnerware, vases and candle holders. And, also think of the natural greenery itself, plants and flowers. These features instantly brighten and freshen up a room and can often provide a beautiful scent around the home. If you don’t have green fingers, don’t worry, at Meadows & Byrne we have a range of faux-plants that will give the look of fresh, luscious greenery in your home without the hassle of watering.
