Collect the shells that the ocean casts at your feet, and make lovely remembrances of the season by  allowing candles to form inside them. Deep shells like scallops and clams work best and burn longest. Sand and shells are a fun budget friendly way to light up your patio this summer, there’s nothing like enjoying a cool evening outside in perfect lighting.

Mason jar centrepieces are another popular choice amongst DIY enthusiasts. These mason jars add both a rustic and whimsical touch to any space. All you need to do is to fill the empty mason jar with water, tie a decorative ribbon (or raffia, as shown below) to the top of the jar in a bow, and place a floating candle in each jar. Light each candle and group 3-4 jars together, enjoy!

Simple flower votive displays are a summer must-have! Flowers and candlelight are nothing new, but combined they create tabletop decorations fit for relaxed summer entertaining. Place votive candles in tall glass vessels, and attach a flower (roses and dahlias shown below) outside each, trimming the stem to fit and tying with ribbon or raffia that matches the flower. Set each display in a saucer of water to keep the flowers fresh. Choose your appropriate sized candle from our delightful range of elegant candles exuding sophisticated & captivating fragrances in-store or online @ http://www.meadowsandbyrne.com/candles-and-fragrances/
